Peafowl
“The pride of the peacock is the glory of God.”
~ William Blake ~
Driving through Coral Gables, Florida, Kate spotted three peahens! She quickly pulled over, and I jumped out of the car, hoping to photograph them – which I did.
They were very aware of me; but none-the-less, allowed me to continue to approach them, though they never let their guard down.
In a complete state of wonder, I turned from the peahens, and came across a peacock, watching over the hens and me.
After the peacock took off, I made my way back to the car, quite satisfied with Kate’s find and hopeful I had captured the majestic members of the pheasant family. We turned away from the cul-de-sac, where the peafowl were frolicking, onto a main thoroughfare, where once again, Kate spotted yet another peacock!
I trekked through the field, camera in hand, and gave chase – well maybe not chase, but a little foot pursuit, wanting to get as close to him as possible.
The peacock posed for a few shots; and then took off!
No, I did not find any feathers, in the field; but I did look, thinking of Allison.
[…] A while back, in this section, I featured peafowl, which I had spotted in Coral Gables, Florida. I was thrilled when I saw them, happily flying around the neighborhood, enjoying the sunshine, and their freedom. http://thatisallfornow.com/?p=6144#.Vc_AVrPTDzF […]
