To love a painting is to feel that this presence is… not an object but a voice.

This is an oil on canvas, but to me it does not look like a painting; rather some sort of three dimensional art. I am not entirely sure why I am attracted to this picture, but I am. It feels rather stark, a bit like my world, at the moment. But what I believe to be a mailbox, toward the center of painting, gives it hope. I oddly even like the muted pallet and that I find the view slightly distorted, as I look through the artists’ window.
I saw this painting at the Portland Museum of Art, in Maine. The artist happens to make Maine home.
Art can never exist without naked beauty displaced.
