Grey Weather, Morning with Figures, Eragny

I do not see the grey morning; rather I am drawn to the golden fields, bordered by wild flowers, and the harvest.  I see hope in this work.  The grey sky may be looming, but I am more interested in the figures hard at work, and what might yet be gleaned from the field.

This work hangs in the Portland Museum of Art.  It was photographed before covid-19.
