I am indeed longing for warmer weather, dreaming about laying on a hot beach, basking in the sun, and forgetting bone chilling winds, drenched with frozen precipitation, but that is not why I am sharing this picture with you, well not entirely.  Lately, I have been thinking of how much I enjoy being on the road, the people I have met, away from “home”, and the many wonderfully wild adventures that one encounters, when we step out into the unknown.

We had gone to Brownsville, Texas, tracking down a piece of my Father’s story, it was an amazing trip, spiced with everything one wants from life  — I so need to finish that thousand page book   — but one of my favorite moments, came when in the middle of the night, we had headed to the beach, and not being able to see a thing in front of us, decided to pull our little red truck over, to the side of the road, climb in the back, and go to sleep.  In the morning, we quite literally woke up where the boat is in this picture!  It was  absolutely amazing!  We stepped out of the truck and into the ocean!  (Yes, a third exclamation point, in a row, is called for.)
