The Garden at The Breakers Hotel
Located in Palm Beach, Florida, The Breakers was birthed through Henry Flagler, one of Florida’s most prominent citizens and champion of what the state could become. He had been John D. Rockefellers partner, in the Standard Oil, before coming south, into the sunshine, bringing the railroad and expansion.
The magnificent hotel first opened in 1896, but was ravaged twice by fire, and rebuilt, the final time in concrete, opening in 1926; and modeled after the Roman Villa Medici. The 140 acres, which encompasses the hotel, golf courses, pools, and gardens, are meticulously and beautifully manicured.
Weaving in and out of the hotel and the grounds, you are engulfed with the marriage of the oceans’ sights, smells, and sounds, as well as the perfumed flowers, vibrant colors of nature, and perfectly placed water features and sitting areas.
I thought you might enjoy a look at their spring displays, I know I did.
