In His Own Words

Today

It was a beautiful day to say bye to you

The sun was shining

The skies were blue for you

Flowers arranged from yellows

To pinks

To whites

To blues

All to bid farewell to you

Your calls won’t be received anymore

Those random chats I used to adore

And now, when I speak of you

It will be in past tense

It just doesn’t make sense

Emotions riding the fence

I can’t help but feel angry

I’m just speaking my truth

Can’t believe you let drugs

Do this to you

All of a sudden

The skies turned gray for you

I saw the sun peeking through the clouds

Begging

Pleading

To come through

It started to rain for you

God showing his pain for you

Amazed at what

Heroine

Special K and

Cocaine

Became to you

Can’t help but put the blame on you

Rest in peace

But shame on you.

After your service

We had a lunch in the name of you

I sat next to your daughter

Across from your son

Was this all a game to you?

I think I’m just angry at the way you went out

Your liver flowing out of your mouth

What’s that all about?

Tongue out

Body swollen

Horrific memories imprinted in my mind

Real strife

Sad life

Lessons of those kinds

I don’t want to get on the plane without you

I don’t want to leave Puerto Rico

Feeling

The way I feel about you

I did not know how to end this little thing that I wrote

Because

The end that I know

Was one

That took you

So

I will let you sleep for good

Just knowing this

Life will never be the same

You will always be missed

Bless you

Wow!!! A great pattern that made your words fluid, and at the same time developed a snap shot of a life/death.
