Music and Musings

While we wait for the muses, which I understand; I want to sing the praises of YouTube.   The website was created by three former PayPal employees who were looking for an easier way to share videos, which they found.  On February 14, 2005, they activated their domain name, and thus began one of the most gratifying of web sites.  Individuals are able to upload or watch videos, without charge.  I have been amazed at the artist I have found on YouTube, in fact, I have yet to search for some piece of music which was not there, and performed by several different people.

Recently, I discovered the Auto Play button, which you may be well aware of already.  It is at the top of the right hand column, and when marked will play around 40 pieces of music, in line with your original selection.  Also, it suggests other artist which you may enjoy based on what you are already listening to.

YouTube has become my new radio, as I always love the play list!  I attach speakers to the computer, and hit play.  Ninety-nine percent of the assortment is perfect.  While listening is my pleasure, do not neglect spending a few moments looking as well.  Many videos contain pictures of best friends and relatives, but there are also wonderful videos of old film clips, concert tape, photographs of the artist, and album covers!

At the moment, The Glenn Miller is keeping me company.
