To love a painting is to feel that this presence is… not an object but a voice.

Art can never exist without naked beauty displayed.

These photographs are from an art display at Cuban Nostalgia, 2010.  The first place winner, marked with the large blue ribbon was Alejandro Andres Seda, from Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, in Miami, a 7th grade student.  It is a truly flawless piece of art, and well deserving of the award.  The students were asked to depict Cuba, as they see it.  I was extremely impressed with the images that such young children created, including several odes to the Women in White, who are women that peacefully protest, in order to call attention to their loved ones, who are political prisoners.

The second picture is by Alexander Vidal, who also attends Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, in Miami, and is also in 7th grade.   For some reason, this picture spoke the loudest to me.  Art has its very own power, and a picture does speak a thousand words.
