Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial
Washington D. C.
“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”
“Out of a mountain of despair, a stone of hope.”
We were very excited to see the latest edition to the National Mall, which was dedicated in October of 2011. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial combines both his magnificently powerful words, with a 450 long inscription wall, with a very large image of the man who did so much to shape America’s views on what Civil Rights truly meant.
“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

“A nation or civilization that continues to produce soft-minded men purchases its own spiritual death on an installment plan.”
“And I’ve looked over, and I’ve seen the promised land. I may not get there with you, but I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get to the promised land. So I’m happy tonight. I’m not worried about anything. I’m not fearing any man.”
