Orchids of Latin America
At the Smithsonian
Rarely, do I plan to do something in particular, when going through Washington D.C., as car travel does not sit well with scheduling. There are always things I hope to do, but one never knows. On this specific day, we had hoped to take in the Cherry Blossom Festival, which we did, though it had been a cool winter, and thus the trees were a bit behind in their bloom. Nevertheless, we had had a lovely day in the District, as it was getting dark, and after five, I had become content to call it a day when Kate suddenly realized that the exhibit on orchids was open after five – off I rushed!
Not my favorite display, but it was nice that the plants were labeled.
