“The writer must believe that what he is doing is the most important thing in the world.
And he must hold to this illusion even when he knows it is not true.”

~John Steinbeck~

Of the many paradox’s, which mark my life, none is stronger than change.  Little makes me happier than to wake up in a new city, without any other agenda than to go forward and discover; while little overwhelms me more than having to deal with change in my home.

For almost four years now, ThatIsAllForNow has been my home.  At Kate’s insistence, we created the blog in hope that I would make the time to write and build my portfolio – it accomplished both of those goals.

Through the years, the site has grown in both its offerings and it readers, for which I am grateful.  I have appreciated the many kind comments, and have been most especially touched by those of you who have shared how my stories have impacted you, or how my experiences have mirrored your own, in both the good and bad.  I truly thank you for sharing your hearts with me.

As we have grown, there has also been a long list, of shall we say, suggestions to improve the site.  Kate of course has had the patients of a saint, as no one more than her, has wanted to update our site, while I resisted – wanting to only use technology that I had or could master.  I shall confess to having fought Kate on everything from joining Facebook to adding photographs – I was always wrong, and she and you were right.  But having lived a life of stepping off a plane, in the middle of the night, without a hotel reservation, and in a city whose language I do not speak; I have decided it was time to be courageous and embrace change at home.

Our new site will also have new voices.  In the coming weeks you shall have an opportunity to meet our new contributors, as they share their passions and expertise.  I am excited about the group of people we have put together and believe that you too will enjoy reading their thoughts and sharing their lives.

We shall have both weekly and monthly columns and we shall continue to post on Facebook, and encourage you to comment, as you see fit; though you will now also be able to comment directly on these pages.  By simply clicking on the story, you will be routed to a comment page where too can post your thoughts.  We shall continue to offer what we believe is thought provoking, intelligent, and well informed content; as well as a place for creative and passionate voices to be heard, which empower us to live life to it fullest.

In preparing to launch the new site, I have gone back and looked at our early articles, and I have to say I liked my little clip art – I did.  However, I am also very excited about the possibilities presented by the new site.  As we go forward, becoming a web based magazine, we hope that our partnership with you will grow and prosper.

I am pleased to welcome you to the new, and improved, ThatIsAllForNow!
