Hurricane Sandy’s Wrath

After more than a week without power, thanks to Hurricane Sandy, Les Kaminsky, who lives in the Mid-Atlantic region, of the United States, can finally turn on the lights!

Les and his family thankfully survived the category 2 storm, which assaulted the Caribbean, before coming ashore in New Jersey, on October 29, 2012.  It was the largest Atlantic hurricane on record, as well as the second-costliest, in the Atlantic; and left disaster in its’ wake.

Once the storm made landfall, it became known as Super Storm Sandy, having impacted the States, from Florida, to eventually Maine, and then on to Canada.

Today, there are many people still without power, homeless, standing in long gas lines, and wondering how they will feed their family.  It is important that we not forget those effected by this storm.  I continue to urge you to find a way to help.

Les has magnanimously shared photos of the storms impact on him, his family, and neighbors. What a horrible sight to wake up to; one day your life is going along as planned, and the next moment you are quite literally trapped by the trees that once gave you pleasurable shade.  Our prayers are with Les, his family, his neighbors, and all of those impacted by this storm.   Thank you Les, for sharing a piece of your story with us, we wish you the very best.
