Loneliness

by

Marcialito Barros

Loneliness, simply said, does no justice,

So commonly felt, so hard to express,

Rich or poor, it strikes without prejudice,

In a time where one feels so powerless,

It swiftly escalates to depression,

Or just as easily spirals downward,

Plunged in a hazed world stripped of emotion,

With what to take comfort in afterward?

Sweet bliss in the fact that you’re not alone,

Dismissed by society, you are one,

But merely one of thousands left unknown,

Even when your life seems to be undone,

Pick up the scraps and glue them together,

You’re never alone through life’s endeavors.

I am honored to offer you an opportunity to read Loneliness by Marcialito Barros, son of Marcial Barros, who is responsible for “Film’s Recommended” by Marcial.  Loneliness, previously published, is an award winning poem; written by the most outstanding of young man who is only beginning to let his unique voice be heard.  I so look forward to what he will have to say in the future.
