Annually, IBM holds an event called PULSE, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The PULSE conference hosts over eight thousand people that include industry experts, as well as, IBM customers and business partners. Traditionally, the PULSE event focus has been on operational technology rather than on information technology. Operational technology usually handles back office applications, whereas Information Technology supports Operational technology. However, there is a trend to merge the two groups, which unfortunately has created silos within companies, including IBM.
