Remembering Nine-Eleven

South Carolina’s First Responder Memorial

Remembering the Heros of 9-11

On our journey’s we have made it a point to visit 9-11 Memorials. We continue to find communities, across the nation, who have chosen to remember and to ensure by their efforts, that we will all remember.

Between 2010 and 2016 over 1,500 relics from the World Trade Towers have been distributed to groups, both domestically and internationally, who plan or have built a memorial to the victims of the attacks.

Let us all stop and reflect on that day, those we lost, and the many men and women who nobly and tirelessly worked to save lives and protect our nation. May God bless America, always.

From SC Picture Project Website:

“On September 11, 2011, a memorial to first responders was unveiled at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. The memorial features two 25-foot-tall granite beams symbolizing the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and two crossed steel beams salvaged from the World Trade Center site. The names of citizens and first responders who died heroically in the September 11, 2001 attack are etched in the memorial along with the names of Midlands first responders who have given their lives since that day.”
