Why Do Christians Behave Like they Hate Women?

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams”

~ Luke 2:17~

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”

~ Joel 2: 28 ~

There are “triggers” in my That Is All For Now.com world that will either cause numbers to rise or fall – regarding comments, readership, Likes, and yes dis-Likes.

All guest writers are always told the same thing: I will print whatever you have to say, as long as you do not use profanity, or intentionally try to offend the reader. If a person is offended by a position, I can understand and take no issue. However, I do not have tolerance for the writer who straight out just insults readers who do not agree with them. Rarely, on the articles I share on the fb page of That Is All For Now. com, do I add an editorial. In fact, I have been accused of not encouraging my readers toward a mindset, because I do not tell them to read this and be enlightened. I really do believe that my job is to share information and let the reader make up their own mind.

Nevertheless, there are certain issues that I know people react to so viscerally that in general I simply stay away from them because it is not worth the insanity that follows; thus, when I decide to take the plunge, it is because it either matters deeply to me or to someone I love and this is one way I can support.

Recently, I decided to support someone near and dear to me, in their honorable fight. One reason I stepped into the ring was because I could not believe, the attacks being hurled at them for their position, which was Scripturally backed.

I have to say I have been surprised by the reaction of my readers. I am surprised that the issue of women in ministry and the Protestant church has garnered a more negative reaction than any other controversial issue I have ever posted about – ever. What exactly does this say about our views on women and God?

The verse quoted above, it is in both the Old and New Testament’s of the Bible, was the verse, as a child that gave me hope. I pick my words very carefully, yes, as a child and hope.

I believe that I was blessed, at birth, with faith. I have never doubted God’s existence and divinity, or that Christ died and rose again, offering me salvation, nor that the Lord sent the Holy Spirit to mankind to give us comfort and power. I am not worried or concerned about what will happen to me after I die, I will be in heaven with my heavenly Father as well as with my earthly parents.

To me, God was always a box I could check off, yes I believe in Him and I am all set; the issue I have always had is how women are treated in the Protestant church, thus when I read the above verse, I felt hope. This verse, which seemed important enough for us to be included not once, but twice, in the Bible, in both Testaments, boldly spoke to me, announcing that regardless of the time, traditions, historical context, or any other excuse men have used to deprive woman of taking their role in church, God was telling us there was hope, because in the last days gender and age were not going to matter.

I suppose what is open to debate is “in the last days”, the problem, of course is the people who take exception with this verse being applied to women and girls, proudly proclaim that we are living in the last days.
Folks, you cannot have it both ways: If we are in last days, then step aside and make room for the woman God has called, anointed, and filled with His Spirit! That is all for now.
