I have carried this image around with me for years; I love the subtle beauty, which the artist has captured, in the women who are gathering the apples, as well as in the landscape which they inhabit.
Such an ideal image of autumn, it truly stirs in me a desire toward going out, to pick a few apples of my own; especially as the leaves have actually begun to turn.
