“His Friends Back Home Never Write To Him”
This postcard has been in my collection for years; it is obviously a by-product of war time, and a reminder to those tucked safely away in their homes, continuing with their lives, that we should not forget the men and women who sacrifice so much for us. As we get ready to mark Veteran’s Day, perhaps this might be a good time to look into what we can each do let those in the military forces know that we appreciate their work.
I find a certain sad irony in the fact that it was never used, I feel rather certain that word from home means the world to those deployed to fight for our freedom.
