The Wedding Cake House
This post card, post marked July 8, 1966, addressed simply with the recipient’s name, and the city and state, where she lived, is of the famed Wedding Cake House, in Kennebunk, Maine.
“According to Legend, this beautiful home was built by a newly-wed sea captain for his bride who was deprived of her wedding cake when he was ordered to sea in an emergency.”
A rather romantic notion; the house still stands, painted yellow the last time I saw it, and is still a tourist attraction.
