The Everglades Ablaze

This shot was taken as we crossed Alligator Alley, the highway which connects the east coast and west coast of southern Florida – and yes, alligators do abound, as does other wildlife, including a vast array of majestic birds, from flamingos to herons, normally a lovely drive.  The fires are most often sparked by lightening.
