Columbus Day     On October 12, 1492, Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas; and while many no longer consider that an accomplishment worth celebrating, we still believe the achievement  should be noted and are still against revisionary history. Thus we wish you a Happy Columbus Day! From Wikipedia: “Celebration of Christopher Columbus’s voyage...

Autumn Has Arrived     Over the summer, while standing in line to check out of a national chain store, in California, I noticed they had a display of Halloween candy. It made me a bit sad; I was enjoying the summer and not ready to think of fall; I actually thought of saying...

Happy 4th of July   The Star Spangled Banner By Francis Scott Key “Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight, O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? And the...

Happy Easter   “After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. 2 There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. 3 His appearance was like lightning,...

Ground Hog   We have German immigrants to thank for Ground Hog Day, when the hope that winter will end early rest with whether or not a ground hog sees his shadow. Oddly, one wants a cloud day, when the ground hog does not see his shadow, and we are all spared another six...

Welcome to Our Village!

For its 31st birthday we have added a true train station, a real alpine lodge, and a full fledge Santa’s Village!  As I always say, the Village is never the same, but the rules always apply – you need to find a place to live and a place to work!

Once again, Kate has created this lovely video and added a sound track featuring music from the Nutcracker, by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, in honor of having taken Christine, to see the ballet this year.

We, at That Is All For Now, wish you a very Merry Christmas!
