A View from the Road

The Charging Bull in the Middle of the Night

Even if it is only for a quick bite to eat or to check on the progress of the World Trade Tower Memorial, it is always nice to pop into New York City, on our way up and down the coast.  On this particular night, we happened upon the Bowling Green Bull, still incased in his protective fence.  I decided I wanted a picture, and thus, as Kate pulled over, I went over to the nice policeman, and asked if I could photograph the Bull.  He of course said yes.

The sculpture which is still owned by Arturo Di Modica, the man who created it and paid for it, as a symbol of American strength and of his own volition publically displayed it, in Lower Manhattan, as a gift to the city of New York, has only been sitting in Bowling Green Plaza since 1989.
