A View from the Road

A Pioneer Woman with Plow

I fell instantly in love with her!  Driving down the highway in Wyoming, this immense sculpture caught my eye, and demanded that I pull over to take a closer look.  I could not find the name of the artist or of the subject, but it was truly magnificent!

The foreboding skies enveloped the intertwined woman and plow, and for an instant, I felt transported to a time when the work ahead of her meant the difference between feeding her family come winter, and everyone going to bed hungry.

The sculpture was located in Pioneer Village, Museum of the American West, Fremont Company Pioneer Association; and I so wish I could give credit to the artist.  Do you know the artist?
