To love a painting is to feel that this presence is… not an object but a voice.

The Letter
by
Emile Meyer
For the first time in six hundred years, the the College of Cardinals gather in Rome, to select the next Pope, without the loss of the previous head, of their church. While a solemn occasion, I think it may not be as somber, as it has been in the past. Thus I offer you a joyful look at an Emile Meyer painting, which I absolutely love. Painted at the end of the 19th century, this oil on panel is delightful; and the smile upon the seated Cardinals’ face, as he joyfully and attentively listens to The Letter makes me wish I too could hear what is being said.
Art can never exist without naked beauty displayed.
