A View from A Christmas Story
As promised, this month a lighter View From the Road. The house from the film A Christmas Story (1983) is located at 3159 West 11th Street, in Cleveland Ohio, blocks from where I once lived, and where I went to Clark Avenue School. Unlike most of the places, which I share with you, where I highly recommend you visit a national park or presidential library, this is a when in Rome moment. Would I suggest a trip to Cleveland, just to see this house, no; but if you happen to live in the area, are driving through, or looking for something to lift your Christmas spirits, then by all means, go take a look at the leg lamp!

Though this house was only used for exterior shots, it provides a wistfulness that allows us all a childlike moment of Hollywood magic – in Cleveland.
